A theme of refinement carries over to the 2010 CX-7's Mazda-derived platform architecture by incorporating improvements in body rigidity, lower noise, vibration & harshness (NVH) levels as well as reduced wind noise. The exterior design of the 2010 CX-7 features revised front and rear fascias with the front adopting the larger five-point grille design similar in appearance to recently redesigned RX-8, MX-5 and Mazda3.

Exterior

The CX-7’s design theme brings together ‘dynamic movement, speedy shapes and a bold presence in one passionate statement’. The exterior countenance builds on the sports car motif from the 2005 MX-Crossport concept, and carries over much of the strong styling emotion brought on by the current RX-8.

Interior

The Mazda design team strove for an interior cabin environment that would provide a spacious, relaxing comfort zone and, at the same time, reflect the energy of a busy urban lifestyle. For the CX-7, they chose superior quality materials that would appeal to refined tastes, but still incorporated elements that would reflect its sporty nature.

Performance

The primary development goal for the CX-7 was to embody the Mazda Zoom-Zoom philosophy in a crossover vehicle that would maintain an ideal balance between invigorating performance and a refined driving experience. The CX-7-specific powerplant boasts first-rate acceleration, abundant low-end torque and smooth controllability throughout its power range.
