As well as improving passive safety technologies that mitigate injury to the driver in the event of a crash, Mazda focused on enhancing active safety equipment that supports the recognition and avoidance of hazards. These initiatives are directly linked to Mazda's Zoom-Zoom concept that seeks to realize pure driving pleasure.

The all-new MAZDA3 features active safety technologies that include ABS, Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC). It also becomes the first car in its class in Canada to feature bi-xenon headlights with a pivoting adaptive front lighting system, which ensures better than ever safety. Additionally, the zone layout cockpit design enables drivers to see all the information needed while driving with minimal eye movement away from the road, which greatly enhances the driver's ability to notice and avoid hazards

With other features including newly adopted active headrests, and a complement of up to six airbags, the new MAZDA3 offers substantially enhanced safety performance. Exterior

Sporty, expressive countenance showcasing a new fascia that integrates the front grille's lower section into the 5-point design. Lower front intakes combine with the sculpted shape of the hood and sweeping headlamp design (influenced by the Nagare concept), creating bold, flowing lines connecting to the front pillars. New distinctive combination taillamps (LED on GT models) are designed to maximize aerodynamic efficiency and visual impact. Sporty rear bumper with dual chrome exhaust outlets (GT models) contributes to a balanced, aggressive look.

Interior

Sumptuous, exquisite and other unexpected adjectives will come to mind. The elegant interior refinements in the new MAZDA3 might well inspire the kind of superlatives normally associated with pricey luxury cars. Available with the Luxury Package on the GS and standard on the GT, for example, meticulously stitched leather accents grace the high-bolstered sport seats, steering wheel and even the shifter.
