2010 Mazda5
The Mazda5 is the first vehicle of its kind in North America that blends cargo and people carrying ability with compact size for superior manoeuvrability.
The Mazda5 has a fresh, well-balanced look that expresses its Zoom-Zoom personality and appeals to users as comfortably familiar but never boring.
The Mazda5's large dual sliding rear doors open wide for easy access to and from second- and third-row seats, even when space around the vehicle is limited. The dual sliding doors and liftgate are easy to operate for users of all sizes, and seats fold easily for one-handed operation.
Exterior
The Mazda5 development team set out to design a vehicle with a fresh, balanced look that would appeal to a wide range of people as comfortably familiar but never boring. The Mazda5's appearance is stylish and clean, with a sweeping wedge profile, a sense of compactness and a solid, well–toned look. The signature five-point grille readily identifies the Mazda5 as part of the Mazda family, while its distinctive body shape conveys a strong, dynamic presence. Dual sliding rear doors, either of which can be opened with one hand, permit full access to both second and third row seats, even in tight parking spaces.
Interior
The interior of the Mazda5 was designed completely around the comfort of its occupants. Its spacious seating provides ample room for six passengers in three rows of two seats, with a generous centre area creating easy communication between all six seating positions. The second row seats slide forward in a simple motion to reveal a wide access path to the third row. Unique, thoughtful storage spaces throughout the cabin and the flexible nature of the Mazda5’s seating allow for the accommodation of a wide variety of passenger and cargo combinations.
Performance
The Mazda5 shares much of its drivetrain and suspension with the Mazda3, but components have been revised to reflect the more refined driving characteristics expected by families in a Multi-Activity Vehicle. The 153 horsepower 2.3-litre engine provides the spirited performance inherent in the Mazda brand DNA, while the suspension is specially tuned to deliver a supple ride.
