Remembrance Day Ceremonies and Supporting Events

Remembrance Day Ceremonies will be held throughout the city on Friday, November 11th, 2022. After canceling the public ceremonies and parades in 2020/2021 due to the pandemic, we are pleased to announce that all events are back on in 2022. To honour our military personnel and veterans, Surrey will hold the following events.

2022 Poppy Campaign

Poppy Volunteers are needed!

Whalley Legion Branch 229 Seeks members who can spare a few hours to help with the Annual Poppy Campaign, beginning Friday, October 28th through Thursday, November 10, 2022.  

Shifts are Monday to Friday at various locations in the North Surrey area.

• 9:30 am – 1:30 pm 
• 1:30 pm – 5:30 pm 
• 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm 

No uniforms or experience are required!

Whalley Legion

On Remembrance Day, we will hold a ceremony to remember and honour those who fought for the freedom of Canadians across our country.

Gardens of Gethsemani

There will be a Remembrance Day Mass followed by a short ceremony at the Veteran’s Cenotaph.

The Remembrance Day Jamboree 

The Remembrance Day Jamboree was established in 2018 and had over 115 teams competing at Simon Fraser University in its 2nd year, making it Vancouver’s largest fall tournament. This year’s event will once again be hosted at venues, and teams can expect another competitive tournament.

• November 11th – 13th, 2022 – (U13-U14 Boys, U15-U18 Girls) – Gold, Silver, Bronze – Burnaby, Coquitlam, Surrey

Remembrance Day Parade and Ceremony

The Remembrance Day Parade and Ceremony are organized by Royal Canadian Legion Branch #8 White Rock and supported by the City of White Rock.
