While the standard manual transmission is entirely appropriate for a car of this type with such a solid driver-focused character, a six-speed automatic transmission is available as an option. The 2023 MX-5 gets from 0 to 100 kph in just over six seconds, which feels faster than it may sound when combined with the Miata’s incredible driving dynamics.
Generous standard and available equipment
The 2023 MX-5 handles and performs like a dream, but it can also include all the features we expect of today’s modern vehicles, and the Miata can look and feel very high-end. Every Miata for 2023 comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, which have Black Metallic, Gunmetal, or Forged Dark finishes, depending on the trim level you decide to go for. As long as you choose a model above the base GS, standard features include a limited-slip differential, a sport suspension with Bilstein shocks, and Induction Sound Enhancer (ISE). The infotainment system features a 7.0-inch touchscreen and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, while the Apple CarPlay is wireless if it’s a GT model.
